Songs for the Christmas Party

The Saturday Morning Class and Saturday Afternoon Class students will be performing 'Hello, Reindeer' (by: Super Simple Songs) to open their performance, making their solo speeches and then performing 'So Many Animals' (by: Hi-5) and 'Goodbye, Snowman' (by: Super Simple Songs) to close. Good luck guys! Make sure you practice before the day.

Friday 16 December 2011

Today the girls made a cute lyrical piece based around Halloween and used the chance to focus on their oration and to learn some new words. The structure was largely teacher-constructed this time and the kids seemed to have a lot of fun with it.

Saturday Morning, October 22nd

Today the Saturday morning kids used the knowledge they have gained about the wildlife supported by the Amazon River and the Amazon Rainforest to create a cute little story about their fictitious pet anaconda (with a voracious appetite!).

Great job again guys!

Monday 19 September 2011

Saturday Afternoon 17/9

Today Yuna and Shido worked together on some character development using Australian animals as inspiration. Short on time after studying a broad range of Australian animals, they ended up taking a quick detour through the streets of Melbourne with some very shady characters.

Nice work guys.

Saturday Morning 17/9

Today Ritsuki, Ayane and Rena most the most of the little time they had after some reading tests to put together a cute short about their favourite Australian animals.

Saturday 10 September 2011

Saturday Afternoon 10/9

Today Yuna and Shido set about the mammoth challenge of trying to make sense of a popular Japanese kids' song. After that challenge was done and dusted they decided to show off their moves under the cover of masks (Shido is sporting a Ultraman Bad-guy mask, and Yuna the mask of the original singer).

Great job, especially considering that everyone seems to be feeling the change in the weather!

Saturday Morning 10/9

Today the girls started work on this month's Australia unit. They chose to focus on the facts they learned about kangaroos and, despite being nearly exhausted after yesterday's field trip, managed to pull together a very tidy little piece.

Nice work girls!

Saturday 20 August 2011

Saturday Afternoon 20/8

Yuna also rounded off the Oceans unit with a look at the open ocean, but looked more specifically at the importance of the food chain and the types of apex predators that feed on schools of smaller fish. Yuna then used this information to put together a quick little nature film with a funny little twist at the end.

Nice work Yuna!

Saturday Morning 20/8

Today Ayane and Chihiro took their last look at life in the oceans, with a focus on the open ocean. We gathered information from the BBC's Blue Planet series and the girls put together a book and film based on some of their favourite clips.

While preparing the books the girls also worked on correct letter formation and scale.

Another great job!

Sunday 7 August 2011

Saturday Afternoon 6/8

Today Taiki came to Saturday school and worked with Yuna on this great little story starring Nemo. First we studied life on a coral reef, then Yuna and Taiki developed the story with some different pictures of Nemo as the base. Yuna also typed the script this week.

Great work and thanks for coming to see us Taiki!

Saturday Morning 6/8

Today Maco and Ryuichi came to check out Saturday School at TLS-Noda. We studied the way coral reefs are made and the many different forms of life that inhabit them.

Another great (and very cute!) effort team. Thanks for coming by Maco and Ryu!

Another great effort!

Another great (and very funny) effort by Yuna this week. This time she supplied the actors and constructed a full 360-degree set!

Saturday 9 July 2011

Today the girls extended one of their favourite videos by Super Simple Songs. It was a big project and we think they did an awesome job!
